I like Olivia Jaimes’ misanthropic version of Nancy about as much, and as often, as I liked Guy Gilchrist’s “sunny delight” take on the feature: just enough to keep reading, even though my enjoyment is usually only moderate at best. I have to wonder, however, how long my moderate enjoyment can continue its uphill struggle against the soul-wearying misanthropy of Jaimes’ strip — insightful and amusing though that misanthropy undoubtedly may be. I wish GoComics would bring back Gilchrist (or Jerry Scott!) in reprints if Jaimes ever takes a vacation.

Learn to listen better, Sluggo. Nancy said her new goal is to be LOVED by everyone, not LIKED by everyone. Pay attention.

Vampire Lord Nancy already has Sluggo in thrall anyhow.

In which Nancy redefines people to exclude those who don’t love her. Definitely not a good look.

She’ll be in good company with Santa Claus. Everybody LOVES Santa Claus. That is, I never met anybody who said they hate Santa Claus.

That’s pretty harsh, Nancy. Then again, there are awful celebrities and political figures in the world that lots of people love for no good reason.
….Well done?

Brom, who wrote a great Krampus novel. definitely didn’t like Santa Claus. He was the evil villain who won in the end. Quite good book.
