simpsonfan2, I HAVE to agree with you on that one, maybe because we grew up with those classics and as children, they scared the bejesus out of us. the later versions of each, although with superb with special effects and computer graphics, just couldn’t quite match the originals.
one thing that bothered me about the original, though.when Becky ‘turned’ in the cave, where did her pod version come from? the movie makers changed the fact that the people were REPLACED by those growing out of the pods, and they had Becky simply ‘change into’ a body snatching team player….and they never explained what happened to the original bodies.-(although, that was addressed in the remake when they crumbled to gray fluff)all that said, that ’56 version STILL scared the bejesus out of me!
