A big part of the reason why the “feminist” label is being rejected is the people who apply the label to themselves. Many of them, like Lena Dunham, Amy Schumer, Anita Sarkeesian, Kristi Winters, and Zoe Quinn, have scandal after scandal attached to them, and more than a few are also unpleasant to be around in person. If a group’s exemplars are bad apples, is it any wonder the group itself is being left behind?
