How many times have they remade King Kong and how many of them have achieved popularity compared to the first King Kong.
Very seldom does a scifi remake improve the story. Other blatant examples of disappointing remakes: “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” “Godzilla” and “War of the Worlds.” (I fully expect I’ll get disagreement on these.)
Worse is when they remake a movie again and again. They’ve just released ANOTHER Invisible Man remake.
Or then you get the ones that redo it just to change the gender or race of the main characters.
The one with Chevy Chase wasn’t too bad. The Steve Martin attempt at “Cheaper by the Dozen” didn’t cut it.
