A new coworker named Jack arrived and we happily found him to be a nice guy and a great worker. Only I couldn’t call him Jack because we already had 2 guys named Jack and they were both wastes of space. So I explained this to him and started calling him Fred. It caught on. 15 years later and after we’d both moved to other companies I saw him at a conference. I called out “Jack” but he kept walking. When I called out “Fred” he turned to see who was calling him.
Want to hear the eeriest coincidence? My good friend had cancer, and was in the end stage. My son, who had Muscular Dystrophy died unexpectedly on Monday. My friend died Wednesday. When my son’s obituary ran in the paper, I cut it out, and directly on the other side was my friends! Twilight Zone type of stuff!
