Just use a regular envelope kiddo. I can tell you from experience it’ll still get there.

cheap, inaccurate shot at the postal service

you don’t need an airmail envelope, just AN envelope …..mail is not transported by boat, if it’s going overseas, it’s going airmail

For years the USPS has used air over land or sea. Really Allison, we only used ponies for one year. As a retired RFD, I could do anything any Post Office in the world could do from my pick up, except issue passports. The only thing the Post Office had to sell was service. Worked for 200 years. You live in Deep Swamp Alaska, Fed Ex ain’t going there for half a buck.

Lew: Mr. Anti-government is not only an ex-government employee, but is getting paid for doing nothing on a government pension that WE pay for!! I hope you intend to turn down your retirement checks in indignation. Wow, am I overcome with shock and emotion. That’s almost as hypocritical as everyone else here. :-)

By the way, i used to run a eBay business (which is why I hate BIG business) and USPS topped everyone else in delivery prices, even when I had to insure, though the women who work the counter seemed to have a crush on the ripped UPS people.

There’s no such thing as “airmail” any more.

Gee FREEHOLDER I thought you knew that not one penny of taxpayer money has been spent on a USPS pension since the Postal Reorganization Act of 1978. I’m sure you know that the USPS is the only government agency (except the IRS) that pays for itself . The USPS has been off budget for 30 years. that means the 1% per year pension that was part of my union package (not quite as big as the UAW) was earned by men and women working hard enough that the USPS is seldom in the red. The USPS also uses no taxpayer dollars for operations or insurance.

So get off your high horse! Yes I think Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. The government takes our money at gunpoint, gives it away and dribbles us a pittance that will no way equal what we and our employers contributed.. They have stolen from the fund time and time again to balance a budget. Do they not trust us to invest? Thanks Nanny. Great job. What happened to the money.

You want the federal government to take care of you? You obviously define the word “general” before “welfare” different than our founding fathers.

i am thinking it was Reagan who first decided to borrow SS money, but probably not since anything bad must have come from democrats. as another retired rural carrier i will agree Lew has it right about postal service finances.
