Hey gang – as you know, I don’t normally do Sundays but when the National Cartoonists Society put the call out to contribute something for the Big Thank You Search today, I was more than happy to join in. The idea was to place, hidden or obvious, 6 symbols representing essential workers’ icons in our strips as a thank you to all those who have helped us through this crisis.
The icons are:
1. Mask (for medical workers and caregivers) 2. Steering wheel (for people who move our deliveries, supplies, mail etc.) 3. Shopping cart (for grocery workers) 4. Apple (for teachers) 5. Fork (for restaurants and essential businesses that have stayed open) 6. Microscope (for medical researchers)
So, by the looks of it a lot of cartoonists joined in and you’ll see their work in newspapers and online today – check ‘em out!
