I know I’ve posted this before, but please bear with me. Speaking as a retired law enforcement officer, PLEASE support your local police department in some fashion, but do so directly.
That said, most of the calls from those purporting to be from the FOP are pretty much a scam. Very little of the money you would donate actually goes to benefit law enforcement.
There may be a Police Athletic League in your area, genuine FOP scholarships for the children of fallen or injured officers, a survivor’s fund. I would encourage you to directly contact your local police department or a local FOP if you choose to support law enforcement.
