I, too, bought waffles…and I also bought syrup. No idea it was a holiday tho….

I actually was considering buying waffles yesterday at the supermarket. Then I read the ingredients. I will make them from scratch instead. Thanks for the heads up about National Waffle Week. Then I will have a proper excuse to make them. As if one ever needs an excuse to make waffles…

I can’t stand the waffles you put in the toaster. It’s not hard to make them and they’re so much better. You can make up a large batter and store it and have them many times in a week. Just heat up the waffle iron (which no home should be without) and follow the directions, they’re great made fresh like that.

Syrupless waffles would have been a disaster.

Waffles and syrup and butter and Bacon!

And a dorm fridge for the tubs of butter and restaurant cases of bacon and sausages. We still have half a bucket of lard, so we’ll probably be ok there.

I remember the Aunt Jemima animated frozen waffle commercials from the 70’s with the Waffle Whiffer.

Were waffles invented by someone who didn’t like syrup running off their pancakes?

I get local Maple syrup from the Farmers Market

Norm prefers the stuff with corn syrup.
