I’ve said this a number of times, and I speak as a retired Police Sergeant. Please do not donate to cold calls, texts or emails from the FOP. Chances are very good it is a scam.

If you wish to support law enforcement with a donation and I hope you do, please contact your local department or FOP directly to do so. There are a number of worthy programs out there that support children in general, like the Police Athletic League, scholarship programs for both the public and children of fallen officers, support for the families of fallen officers, etc.

To that end, may God bless and I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas.

They’re cops, they might send you a cartridge in a bare tree. I did that for my wife once, she failed to see the humor in it.

For a small donation, they will put you on the list for calls about a large donation.

For a small donation, they’ll send you a lot of stuff you didn’t know you wanted…because you don’t want it.

I use to actually talk to those “police” callers. I tried to be polite. Now I just hang up.
