Danae: Yes! That half-million-dollar prize is as good as mine! Lucy: Umm... what are the rules for the contest again? Danae: To come up with a feasible idea on how people could travel to another solar system. Pretty cool, eh? Lucy: Yeah, but... the definition of feasible seems to be a moving target here. Danae: My idea is cool, and cool trumps all other words.

Lucy: Travel involves moving, so what exactly is the problem?

Only if it works.

Danae must wash that shirt a lot.

How about we put DNA from all earth live forms (or at least a bunch) along with a retrovirus in a whole mess of asteroids then fire them like shotgun at the galaxy. In just a billion years or so, and val-la we’ve colonized other solar systems.
We could call it the “Blind Faith Project”.

It is really cool, when you can make up your own rules!
Melikey about 13 years ago
Is it just Iowans getting the Bachmann ads all over these pages? And does it cost a campaign money every time people click on its ads?
ImaginaryFriend about 13 years ago
Does travel really involve moving? Lets think outside the comic strip…
milano99 about 13 years ago
@Melikey I haven’t seen a single campaign ads on any comic this morning. But I’m in Oklahoma, not Iowa.
puddleglum1066 about 13 years ago
And the winning solution is… fake the whole thing! Who needs real space travel when you have CGI?
Wiley creator about 13 years ago
Thanks for the alert on the politial ads, Meliky. They’re looking into it and get to the bottom of it, which will result in Gocomics not doing business with the outfit that’s doing it, as it’s a violation of the agreement Gocomics has with advertisers.

@ x Tech (my underscore doesn’t work). See Kurt Vonnegut Jr.’s short story, “The Big Space F***.” It anticipates your suggestion
vldazzle about 13 years ago
I only see ads related to the strip merchandise.

Reminds me of the mathematician who liked to say, “this idea is so beautiful, it must be true.”

And when we get there we build 2 more ships and keep going, because it’s obvious that intelligent life could never have evolved on a planet.

No comment on the strip ‘cause I don’t have time tonight. Just wanted you to see I finally got an AVATAR. Of course, my son had to make it work since I never could. He’s here to take me for my surgery which will keep me off the comics for a while. Ladies, go get your mammograms, and Guys, get you prostate checked.

Best wishes and prayers, Mythreesons. I’m all checked and clean, hope you come out likewise!
