Reminds me of the fate of a store chain here in CT…Caldor’s was facing bankruptcy. Target offered to buy the stores, keep the staff, etc.The CEO could (A) sell the chain, and keep everyone working, or (B) put it out of business, and collect a huge bonus, as written into his conract.Guess which he chose?(The employees had to go to court to get what was owed them.)
Chute, (See what I did there?), and they say government is inefficient….You get a bonus even if you screw things up? Even politicians don’t have those balls…..
I kinda wish he showed that broker the appropriate response, not that wishy washy one. There should be NO smiles on anyone down there let alone a broker. The correct response would be too graphic for a family comic page.
the devil made the fine print and the ultra-fine print and the ultra-ultra-fine print that states that he can change the rules any time he wants and the only one that can change that is GOD.
Sturgeon Bay is ridiculously beautiful…..Nothing but the clear, almost invisible, water of Lake Michigan, with it’s sand beaches, sand dunes, towering pines….And no houses, at all! Just an occasional lighthouse…..Sorry, but I’m a proud Michiganer….(No, not “gander” and no, not “gainian” , I’m a Michganer…..pronounce it any way you want…).
I worked for a company that had just gotten bought out. Naturally the new company put its own top management in. Three months later, the company got bought out again and our top boss lost his job. He was complaining about the paultry $15M severance package.

I’ll tell you what I’ll do, Oh devious Hell Lord. You can have my soul, I’m not using it anyway, and I get to keep the money including my bonuses.

If a person could find a way to get on the Devi’s good side….then it would be a broker….possibly a broker in lost souls?
