LOL, don’t hate me, but I was at a big horse show years ago, complete with a concession area, they call it a ‘trade fair’ and one of the stores actually had a T-Shirt that said, I’m not making this up: Jack Russells Are Football Shaped For A Reason.
Poor puppies. BTW, they are/were somewhat popular with some horse people because they are good ratters. That is, they kill rodents very well. They also put tenacious in the word terrier, so think twice before thinking you should have one to help with your rodent problem. ;) :)
We had a Lakeland Terrier who seemed to believe he was really a big version of a Jack Russell. He finally started to calm down at about 13, and the vet said he needed meds to boost his thyroid. I said, “uh…no”.

This reference is always an odd encounter for me. My father’s name was Jack Russell.

Wiley must own or have owned a Jack Russell terror …er…terrier.Today’s cartoon is sooo true !
Jack’s are hyper to a fault, but are smart, loyal, fearless, fun loving, and pound for pound, the best watch dog you could have.
I’m not particularly a “little dog” fan, but Jack Russells don’t think of themselves as small. They’re really German Shepherds in disguise !

Jack Russells need to be at their work, except with city life, their work is only running around in circles driving humans nuts.

Indeed. But they are super trainable. I recall a youtube video of a woman who trained her JR to close open cabinets and do housework.

Remember the JR in “Crimson Tide”? Gene Hackman’s character said “smartest dogs in the world”.

My Wylbur was second generation Jack Russell. “Biggest dog in the whole dam town.” in his imagination!
