Uh-oh, looks like the intelligence enhancing plasmoid has reached them. (It only effects animals not humans.) Created from the Toxoplasmosis gondii that is known to infect humans from their cats. Causes rats to expose themselves to be killed and eaten by cats in order to finish that part of the Toxoplasmosis gonii’s life cycle. All the way from Birdwell Island to here.
Some neurologists and parasitologists do wonder what it does, if anything to the human brain. Some have begun exploration to find out.
This version manipulates the PPP1R1B gene. Or it will encode it into any genome that doesn’t have it.
Variations in the PPP1R1B gene are linked to a mess of mental disorders, including bipolar disorder. The protein that the gene codes for is also linked to increased intelligence.
Speaking of spiders, check out the sorting hat spider, identified in India, and named by two scientists who are Harry Potter fans. VERY COOL! Oh, yeah, and I like the strip, too, Wiley. . .

This actually happens fairly regularly on our morning rides. He or she who is in the lead, eats the webs.
