I wouldn’t argue against the thesis that super-heroes make bad spouses and worse parents. Regular everyday-joe heroes, though, don’t get addicted to the idea, so they do what’s needed, once, when they happen to be where something needs doing, then they blush and claim that they’re not special, anybody would have done it, and go back to being the person they always were.
And yet, humans would have no world without everyday people. Oddly, we could have a world without narcissistic asshats that think the world revolves around them.
if he’s living in a house like that with a family we assume he has a day job. how does he get buy with only a couple of hours sleep before having to handle the mcpherson account?
You know, if the cooking, cleaning or other domestic tasks get done around here, I’m gonna be the one to do them. The cats aren’t going to, certainly. Yet I would be the ‘undomesticated’ man that has been likened to drunken frat boys rednecks.
Guess there’s a reason for my choosing not to co-habitate.
Bruce Wayne was a millionaire, so I’m sure he never spent his OWN nights waiting up, eyeballing the sky to see if Commissioner Gordon had lit up the bat-signal. He’d have people for that. Of course, if he was only summoned by night (and only cloudy nights at that), I suppose he could afford to sleep in all day.

If I had ever tried that I would have been sleeping in the guest room. Or more likely in the basement

Probably within the male ego – even that of a super schlump or booze-sodden derelict – being some kind of super hero is fancied.
