I have been expecting something like that in this neighborhood. All within half a block. Five trees were chopped down in the past two weeks. The stacks of logs and branches are becoming a nuisance. But somehow… they missed smashing in a vehicle!

Silly. If leaf blowers could do that, you’d have to anchor them to something a lot more massive than the average human. Though if you could control the direction in real time, it might be kind of fun to jet around…

Can’t see the point in blowing leaves from one point to another. Cleaner to just suck them up so they’re gone.

Went to Mackinac Island years ago. It was quiet, quaint, bicycles, pedestrians, and the clip clopping of horses hooves. Then someone started up the gas powered leaf blower…

It ain’t leaf blowin’ slickers. It’s leaf herding.

Find those well worn jeans, strap on a few horsepower of wind generator and keep that lasso ready when one makes a break.

Bring ‘em on in. Whhoooo whhheeee, git along lil leafies. Yah Yah!

It’s all about image and confidence to keep control.

One fall I saw an older guy out in his front yard trying blow leaves… that were still hanging onto his maple tree.

When I was a kid in the city people raked their leaves into the street and burned them. Back then the streets were paved either with bricks or concrete so there was no harm done by the fires. It’s no longer allowed of course but you knew that Halloween was not far off when that lovely scent of burning leaves was in the air!

Okay, now we know where Tim the tool man Taylor retired to. Soooo, where can I get one of those things? Between that and a flame thrower my lawn work is DONE.

On a half acre lot with over a dozen mature oaks (50 years or more), mulching the lawn with leaves is definitely not an option. One annual fall covers the entire lawn with several inches of leaves. And that layer will not break down before the next batch falls. If not removed by whatever means, successive layers will compact and eventually there will only be leaf mold. No birds, fewer dependent species, no flowers. Not a desirable outcome.

Tell the insurance company ‘it was an act of God". Wind is a force of nature. It’s about time they kept up their end of the bargain, and you finally got some return for the premiums you’ve paid over the years. BTY, you might wanna forget to mention the leaf blower.

Our neighbor up the hill has one like that. He loves to play with it. He just let us know he will be blowing his leaves through our yard and the next-door neighbor’s yard to the street. In the process, all our leaves get blown away too.
