Lawyer education is actually a real racket. Most states now require regular (every 3 years) MCLE hours including some in person, others by recordings. Lecturers charge a fortune and mostly tell us that alcoholism is a big problem and that we should look for signs of substance abuse in our fellow attorneys, and, BTW, don’t embezzle client trust funds or sexually harass anyone. Duh. Do they really think that making people listen to that will change anyone’s behavior?

Q: How many attorneys does it take to change a light bulb? A: How many can you afford?

On Judge Judy a few days ago was a lawyer (natural born EVER ANAL lawyer) he was explaining his “legal” fees? He lost BIG. Did Judge Judy forget she was once a lawyer?

There is medical malpractice insurance. Legal malpractice insurance is prohibitively expensive – it costs two million a year for a million dollars worth of coverage.

There is a Legal Code of Ethics developed by the American Bar Association. State Bar Associations have their own code, based off the national code. All of them mean squat to attorneys, especially the Big Dawg firms. A solo attorney who rocks the boat? He or she will quickly be in the crosshairs of the State Bar Association, but never anyone who is really dirty.

There seems to be a serious lawyer shortage. Trump has the monopoly on them.

This reminds me of the old joke about God and the Devil arguing over who has to repair the fence between heaven and hell.

God threatened to sue, and Satan responded, “Good luck finding a lawyer up there!”

On the other hand, the only reason we’re not wearing useless face diapers and mandated clot shots every month is lawyers. Thank you Aaron Siri, Tom Renz, ICAN and CHD.

Unless, of course, YOUR lawyer wins the case and YOU get millions in damages and punitive fees…but we don’t talk about that, do we?
