    I would have guessed that it was a flea. Ticks wouldn’t be moved by even an avalanche of hair.

    Ticks have 8 legs. Just sayin’.To: Ottodesu…don’t get crazy. If you grab their head with a tweezer (or your finger nails if you have to) it’s unusual for the head to stay. If it does, your (or your animal’s) body will just naturally push it out. The trick is to make sure you find them right away before they have time to transmit a disease. Like, within 48 hours. I have removed LOTS of ticks with no problem.

    Actually that theory has been disproven. Ticks carry disease in their saliva. If you mess with them or burn them, they regurgitate their saliva into you. The best way is pulling them out quickly and smoothly like Janet said.
