My pet dislike is that XL size has become 3XL. Seemly because the third world countries manufacturing the clothes don’t have a clue as to what XL size is in Western countries. It also speaks volumes for the retail buyers stupidity in not addressing the issue with the manufacturer.
According to what I heard on the radio yesterday – many school districs argue that serving healthy foods in school is too expensive, and following the sodium and whole grain requirements is rather challenging.
In the 70s the fastfood joints and restaurants were all about making the customer think they were getting more food than they actually were. Lots of crushed ice, bowls that looked deep but had thick bottom and sides—they gave you smaller portions for more money. Now, it’s all about supersize portions—of cheap fillers and third-rate comestibles.

western culture sets us up, especially our young, for conflicting ideals – huge portion, highly unhealthy diets, and miniscule, unhealthy body images.
