Jeff0811: That is particularly good in training feral cats. Use pea gravel and hit about a foot in front of them. The irregular gravel makes a noise in flight, plus the dust kicked up or grass cut gives an added impact. No animals are harmed in this technique – just scared out of the yard.
It is easy to train cats. Mine are trained to scratch up the furniture, hack up hair balls on the carpet, knock items of choice off the coffee table, jump on me when I sleep in, and shed lots of hair. I’m proud of them.

What behavior modification techniques? We have three, and the third has put the second off his litter training.

We trained our cat with “Mr. Squritbottle.” I wanted to use something more effective, but my wife insisted that “Mr. Smith & Wesson” was a bit much

You know, I’ve never understood why people would want to train theirs cats to sit, etc., like dogs. Same thing with feline leashes.
