Same way that stack of plates at the salad bar never gets any shorter. Every time you take something off the top, everything below it pushes up a little more.
I got this one. I know what my cat eats and as the cleaner of the box, I know what she puts out. I also know what she sheds – enough so after I vacuum, I can show off my hardwood floors and an hour later show of my deep-pile, shag carpet.
According to my calculations, my cat should have disappeared sometime last April. The fact that she is still here leads me to one conclusion: she is capable of photosynthesis. That explains why she is always sleeping in the sun on the window sill.
Cats can change their molecular density. This why a large cat can hide in a small place, and why even a small cat sounds like a Shetland pony when running around the house at night.

That’s OK, just get the cat to swallow it, and he’ll barf it up in a condensed form.

This is what all that food you feed them gets turned into. Our black lab was a fur factory!

Oh. I guess it should be “WHY is it not smaller?”.

I think most pet owners are very familiar with this mystery of physics.

And it’s not any lighter, either….

Cats shed rapidly when they are stressed or frightened, such as during trips to the vet.

I can attest to this. A true, unsolvable mystery!

The cat simply becomes less dense
