We had a golden retriever / chow mix – best dog we ever owned. However he shed his fur in quantities greater than the food he ate. I suspected he was capable of photosynthesis. In the mornings we’d tell people, “How do you like our hardwood floors?” In the afternoon it was “How do you like our deep-pile, orange shag carpet?”
We now have a black dog. Matches a lot more of our clothes.
I hang all our clothes up inside out to avoid ‘flying’ and ‘rubbing’ hair. All mammals shed, just some are more talented than others. We rescued a sweet little short-haired, pumpkin-colored cat years ago which had been neutered, totally declawed, and then abandoned. Poor thing was frightened of everything and she was a fur-flinger. Whenever we took her to the vet’s, whoever held her ended up with an orange front and the air would be filled with floating orange strands. I was always expecting her to go bald, but she never did.
Four of us met up at my cat-loving friend’s apartment before an evening outing. I have fond memories of us sticky rollering each other before we could leave!
Cat people might as well put their ‘sandbox’ on the kitchen counter. It wouldn’t make any difference to kitty, and the lumps easily into the garbage disposal.

If you have a cat or a dog, all of your clothes should have a smooth surface and a paisley pattern.

We were so lucky, our short hair cat didn’t shed at all.
