Paul’s usually a pretty astute guy, but this time he’s being an idiot. Women are far more likely to be ruled by emotion than men; it’s not kind (or right) of him to keep trying to convince her when he’s obviously upset her so much.
Now that I’m thinking about it, why doesn’t Claire ask why they broke up? If it’s because Sophia realized she’s a lesbian, then having her crashing on the couch might be ok.
