    If all the low paid employees fired all the high paid employees they could then hire many many more low paid employees for far far less.

    Many times the higher paid employees take a paycut and/or extra responsibilities during times of cutbacks. My husband was able to retain his job when many others were losing theirs, so he had to do his job AND theirs for the same pay. Straight salary, no overtime and now he’s working 60-80 hours per week.
