I remember a box of popcorn at the theater cost 15 cents. Candy and a paper cup of pop cost a dime. The movies were great. I remember the thrill of watching the Beatles in A Hard Days Night and Help. It was like seeing them in concert!
And a forgotten Knot Knotts flick, “How To Frame A Figg” (1971). The last time I saw that movie was in 2009 while visiting a relative in Jacksonville, Florida.
Still take in my own. Saw a bra where a woman could sneak in her own and a fake gut where a guy could sneak in his own,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Do miss getting in during the middle.
And you could even take your own food in. I survived dorm food by a half dozen Spudnuts and a quart of milk at the movies. I also selected double features of films I wanted to see that had on location westerns as the second feature. The plots were rotten, but the scenery was often spectacular.

Almost as good as “The Ghost and Mr. Chicken”…and, I’m having flashbacks, because this is how we used to go to the movies, too!

Yeah, I remember when… but I try not to bore my kids and grandkids with it.

Don Knotts’s movies were a lot funnier than most of what passes for comedy these days.
