I didn’t know this until Ruthie prompted me to look it up just now, but “keet” is a word. It means a young guinea fowl. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/keet

I also looked up the actual etymology of parakeet while I was at it, but I leave it for people to look that one up for themselves if interested.
