So according to Ruthie, if you’re next to someone and speaking to them, it would be “nearsi”?

In the last panel, I feel as if I’m watching The Patty Duke Show.

You can also speak far if you know how to throw your voice!

If it were on the phone, it would be a Persian to Persian call.

This reminds me of one my favorite Sesame Street bits, where Grover explains “near” and “far”.

“This is ‘near’… huff huff huff huff huff… and this is ‘far’!… huff huff huff huff huff… ‘near’… huff huff huff huff huff… ‘far’. Understand? No? … huff huff huff huff huff… ‘near’… huff huff huff huff huff… ‘far’…” and so on… ☺

Word Ruthie’s not heard of, I can understand why.
