Actually, Ruthie shouldn’t be allowed to watch TV ads now. “HellOOO clean bottom!” “Not this skin, THAT skin!” “Are you ready for your ‘gush’ moment?” And my personal favorite: the gadget that lets Mom pee in the bed without getting up! Look! She going right now while reading her book!
Panel 3 reminds me of an ad a financial institution of some flavor used run on WHIZ-TV in the ’70s – “Borrow enough to get completely out of debt!” I kid you not. That one was sometimes known to get me yelling at the TV set late at night.
(Another said “Borrow up to $20,000 – _or more!”_ And yes, I would yell at the screen about what “up to” means, too……….)

The worst of all is “Call NOW!!!” I’ve always wondered if anyone actually does that.

Anytime your kid is messing around with the toilet it won’t turn out to be a good thing.

As a kid, I realized that if we always followed imperatives on TV, we’d never stop watching TV.
