And the Ghost of Mr Chicken and the Reluctant Astronaut !

The part about my dad being late and having to watch the second half of the movie before the first half and then leaving in the middle drove me crazy!

I give that “One Big Happy” movie four stars!

Is anybody checking IMDB?

My dad would do that – the half-way part. Why?

If he didn’t want to see the movie and was being dragged to it by his kids (like me), then he’d do that.

But he would allow us the candy and drinks from the theater concession. ;-)

It was a remake of a Bob Hope movie.

We went to the local drive-in theater. One dollar per car.

I don’t remember any parents accompanying us to the movies. Once my older sibling was considered trustworthy, we went with two neighborhood kids all together. Half the time we ended up walking home because my mom was on the phone. (The old kind, where you got a busy signal.)

OK, I admit it. I usually show up about 15 minutes after the scheduled show time and sneak in my own snacks. Why 15 minutes? Because the first 15 minutes of every movie showing is always previews and commercials! And I’m not paying $8 for a Hershey bar, I don’t care how big it is.

Loved going to the drugstore when I was kid before the movie. You go more snack and a better varity

The Shakiest Gun came out in 1968 so if he was 8 then he would be 62 today.

And ‘The Incredible Mr. Limpet’

I totally remember watching “Raiders of the Lost Ark” way, coming in late and then staying for the beginning of the next show to see what we missed.

This is my entire childhood!
