Having had numerous garage sales myself, I can really relate this. How can those people have any idea what is inside just by driving slowly past and rubber necking? After all, I could have been selling a genuine Picasso painting for a dollar, and they missed out on it. Why bother to crane their necks when they could easily stop and have a good look? This is one reason I stopped doing sales. Just too many customer foibles to deal with for not much money. Much better and easier to donate the stuff to charity.
Most times when a garage sale is run by an older person, the pries are ridiculous. They think all their stuff is gold! I was at one, and she had a tiny carpet covered cat tree. She wanted $50 for it. I had bought one online four times as big, and only paid $70 new. I said to her “I guess you just decided to carry this outside to give it some sun, before taking it back in?”

The only difference between a yard sale and trash day is how close your stuff comes to the curb…..

They might have been trying to decide if Rose was worth the two bucks they were going to offer.

That means that they know her stuff isn’t worth getting out of the car.

No, they decided that the stuff YOU don’t think is worth keeping is worth buying.

Plenty of scavengers come back the day after the yard sale to see what the sellers threw out. Now they can now pick it up for free!
