It’s a character in the play THE ADMIRABLE CRICHTON. Written by J.M. Barrie (the Peter Pan guy), it’s about some people washed ashore on an uninhabited Gilligan-type island, where a butler called Crichton puts things in order.
Now I have the opposite problem…I’m old enough to forget everything…
