When I was a merchandiser for American Greetings I was sometimes called the card lady and I wasn’t crazy about that. But one day I overheard someone tell the manager “The bug guy is here” and I decided being called the card lady wasn’t so bad.
Calling people by their place isn’t that uncommon – Bumble Bee Man, Mole Man, Comic Book Guy…
