I like the King’s remark about canned meat from Chicago. 1906 was the year Upton Sinclair’s novel, The Jungle, was published.
Theoretically, the “somic” in the caption might be a clever portmanteau (“comic” + “somnolence”: perfect for a dream world like Nemo’s), but I think it’s probably just a typo.
Is it just me or does the king bear a certain resemblance to Mr. Jiggs?
