His heart is in the right place, but falsehood will always fail in the long run. Just keep showing them autopsy slices of smokers’ lungs. That should do it if anything will. (And if it doesn’t, just write it off to evolution.)
Unfortunately it doesn’t work with evolution because they have time to reproduce before it kills them.
