Kids may not like you.. They may try to hide you under their mashed potatoes.. But world-class chefs seek you out.. And your complicated semi-bitterness will be savored by kings and queens! Wow.. I was not feeling good about myself.. I'm gonna grow 10 feet tall for that guy! Charley, the Brussels sprouts whisperer

I’d rather eat mule fritters.

Give them to me and they’re getting cooked with bacon and cranberries!

I planted brussel sprouts in the last garden I planted. They were the ONLY thing the @#$%^&* deer didn’t eat. I always liked them boiled, but until I started roasting them I never loved them like I do now. Much more flavor!
As a note for those who have gardens near a National Forest, Morkies make poor guard dogs.

Fresh ones are great. Canned – blech.

Cut them in half, toss them with olive oil, salt & pepper and roast them in a 400 degree oven until brown and crispy. Delicious. The dogs go wild when I get them out to clean them. They get the trimmings and a few sprouts. Their favorite treats.

A good day for brussel sprouts. A sad day for Brussels.

Brussels Sprouts, served chilled in a sweet and sour marinade with little slices of sweet red pepper, delicious!
To be exact: Jake & Amos Pickled Sweet Brussels Sprouts! Yummy! Don’t know if you can find them in your area or not, but their foods are REALLY good! It’s a PA Dutch Company out of Myerstown, PA

I HATE those things – and I did some research and found that there is a gene that is responsible for that:

Tomoth, I think that gene is in me. I wonder if it’s also the same one that’s responsible for making dislike peas and green beans.

I’ve tried them lots of ways and I pretty much don’t like them cooked. However, raw in salad is pretty good.

@TomothSurprisingly, my mother had the most violent reaction to PTC I’ve ever seen (and I helped test classes of first-year biology students for the trait every year) yet she loved leafy green vegetables!

I am surprised so many of you enjoy the king of vegetables! They were always my favourite, the one good thing about Winter!!!
Sheila Hardie over 8 years ago
I always loved them even when I was a kid. I used to trade my cousins for theirs.
