Well, the four fingers (or three fingers plus one thumb) per cartoon hand rule usually does apply. But in the second panel, a pinkie is tucked under each thumb. In each other panel, only three fingers are shown (with a thumb implied). So… when cartoon characters denote numbers using their fingers, they briefly grow pinkies? Perhaps pinkies are like pockets or private parts on characters that don’t wear pants – they’re always there and available for use, but rarely (if ever) seen.
I came across a Sherpa comic today by accident. I also saw Marge had found it as well. It is called SNOOTLE by Tia Petty. It is very cute and shows promise. Check it out

Is this where the term "watch dog " originated?

Why is he using the same three fingers on each hand to denote six, most people use a full hand and an extra finger on their other hand.
