“Lept”? The past tense of “leap” is either “leapt” (preferred) or “leaped.” There is no such word as “lept.”

It is just Slept, with a lazy and slow to arrive “S”.

Henry’s first thought was “We’re pirates. What do you expect?”, but he held his tongue when he saw her.

I think that’s Cecilia. And she’s forgotten that Raymond is actually her dog.
