Dr. Samuel Mudd was imprisoned at Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas, about 70 miles west of Key West.

(Though I don’t think it’s known as Mudd Island, it’s an island that had a Mudd that was not actually muddy.)

Samuel Nood tended to put his name everywhere.

They also got burned by rowing to Bikini Atoll. Maybe both literally and physically.

I think it is no longer in business now but there was a bar in Toronto that was called The Spotted Dick. Any time I passed by that place and read the sign I would have the urge to cross my legs! :-) Actually the spotted dick is a traditional English pudding. But pudding was not on my mind when I read the sign posted out front!
