This is kind of an out of place cartoon. Right now Santa should be out making deliveries to millions of kids around the world. As I write this it is 1 AM on the east coast of America. Santa has finished visiting Australia and Asia and Europe and is now making the deliveries around here. Santa has no time right now to be bandaging his sore ribs! Come on Santa, be a man! Still, millions of kids are depending on you!

Louie, Santa was just there yesterday. Why are you acting so surprised?

Santa knows Louie’s welcome is coming. And he takes it in stride.

Still, a “Louie-proof” vest would distribute the love and reduce the damage.

Broken ribs shouldn’t be wrapped. That can cause pneumonia.

Oh. My. Dog. YES. New toys for the pack and clowder. More of the usual treats and some new ones. And new brushes, combs and other grooming tools for making them look civilised. They all get a bath and trim between now and NYE. My cousin and her wife are visiting and the doggos and one or two of the cats are meeting them for the first time and it is love at first sight. One cat was very standoffish at first but now has spent the last two nights on their bed. She has adopted them as her humans and is very possessive. So much so that she almost caused a fall wrapping herself around some ankles before the human’s caffeine kicked in.

Oh. And there is no love like that of a big retriever, Golden, Labrador, Chesapeake or Newfie. Especially when they show their love like Louie is showing Santa. IMHO, Big dogs are the best. YMMV. Have a Merry and a Happy.

I thought I had a bruised rib that wasn’t healing. Sometimes a badly bruised digit would take over a year to heal. So I finally had it looked at. It turned out that my gall bladder had stopped working and needed to be removed. We need to pay attention to our bodies.
