How cute. A pirate wearing pink colored breeches and green flip-flops. But yet, looking at the size of him I still would hate running into that pirate in a dark alley no matter how he dressed!

Nate must have some gum stuck to his left heel. His flip-flops aren’t flopping.

Pet owners remember this comic. ASPHALT is like a griddle to the pads of domestic pets: dogs, cats, gerbils, etc.

Hot sands in May? Where are they, anyway?

I used to stationed at Fort Ord, CA. My family spent many wonderful days walking with our dog on Monterrey Bay.

Oh, of course. How silly of me - Nothing is better than being carried in Nate’s arms. Have a nice ride, Louie :)

On R&R fromVietnam we went to China Beach. Sand was really white, and really hot! Only time beach sand has actually been too hot for me to walk on…

Sand can get so hot that the bottom of your feet can get burns. It happened to my daughter. I never, ever went to the beach in the summer without sandals or sneakers.

I wish our weather were anywhere near hot these days …

But in the meantime, Nate’s a pretty darn good addition to the flip-flop party.

In 2001 the Colorado State University Vet School did dog checkups and washes to buy heat-resistant shoes for search and rescue dogs such as had been working at the World Trade Center. Was told our dachshunds looked especially cute in the drying room.

Nate is the best!
