Penn and Teller do a trick where they rub bacon fat on a playing card, and then supposedly have a rat find it and pull it out of the pack. The fun part is that while they are explaining how they do this trick, they are actually doing it a completely different way.
If Louie had carried the ball in his mouth at all, he’d recognize his own scent. If it was brand new, he’d recognize that scent, too. And he should be able to pick up the scent of whomever threw it. But regardless, he’s annoyed with his humans for throwing it in the leaves. So drama-king that he is, he’s dragging things out to make them feel guilty. Even Louie can get ticked off now and then.
Was it ever, ladykat. Louie wasn’t happy at all, was he. Wosjomg (That is what happens when your fingers are on the wrong keys – lol. One more time … Happy Wednesday Wishes (and for the rest of the week, too.)
Hopefully the ball is at least neon orange, or a different shade, to help Louie out. But like Eric said above, questions of color are still probably tough for Louie. Hang in there, buddy.

Dogs cannot see the difference between orange, yellow, or green, so the ball is just lost in the leaves.

All “yellowish” to a dog. But he’d use his nose anyway.

But if it squeaks when Louie bites it it’s either the ball or a rat.
