    I leave a few growing on edges of the property. Butterflies and bees use the flowers for pollen. Yesterday I saw a Goldfinch eating the seeds.

    huge invasive thistle plants have been colonizing our area of japan. they originated in europe, but are of course called “american” thistles… ☺
