Despite all the ant wee-wee, the well water up nort’ was a lot better than the city water.

It just struck me… why was the well on a hill instead of in the lowland, where the water table should be closer?

My opinion since no one asked is that going up the hill to fetch a pail of water was just an excuse for Jack and Jill to spend some ‘we’ time together. And got caught which was how the fell down the hill because their clothes were in disarray.
