Yep, hurtling through space at speeds that would be dangerous here on Earth, and we as planets are among the slower-moving objects in the cosmos. It is extraordinary to contemplate.

Please keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times.

Do I see a “I brake for asteroids” bumper sticker?

You must be this tall…………….. to ride

I don’t see the proper restraints for that child seat, RJ.

And the insurance industry thanks RJ for another way to avoid paying out.

Just remember that you’re standing on a planet that’s evolving

And revolving at 900 miles an hour.

It’s orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it’s reckoned,

The sun that is the source of all our power.

Now the sun, and you and me, and all the stars that we can see,

Are moving at a million miles a day,

In the outer spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour,

Of a galaxy we call the Milky Way.

I recall it being said 1,000 miles an hour or so. NOW if you suddenly stopped the spinning everything would still be moving at rotation speed. Faster at the equator and slower at the poles.
