    Actually, humans aren’t at the top of the food chain. In fact, there is no “food chain”. It’s more of a food net, where everything lives off of something else, and everything is lived off of by something else. (Umm… “off of by”… I hope the grammar police aren’t near by.) When we die, we get eaten by bacteria and other things.
