I’ve read that monarchs are endangered, but they are doing well in my gardens! I have two butterfly gardens, front and back, at my house, full of milkweeds and nectar sources, plus another huge one that I’ve established at my church’s labyrinth garden. I can sit in any one of them on a warm summer day and I’ll be surrounded by butterflies … although, sadly, not to the extent that Verne and RJ are.

Today’s strip made me wonder, so I looked it up. Butterflies don’t have kidneys or bladders.

How nice. Verne and RJ are making themselves useful today.

Looks like those monarchs have been holding it in for a while.

Butterfly bladders. I wonder if ants could use those for football.

Challenge of the week. Go to Killers Of The Flower Moon and take no potty breaks. Runtime is near 3.5 hrs

Pretty sure butterflies don’t have bladders. Wish I had time to stop and ask a few thousand. :)

Incidentally, someone I know has been taking care of a monarch butterfly with broken wings.

The leader has to learn to stop and smell the flowers.

Those Monarchs need to get the crew from Overboard to help them out.

When I grew up our house was in the middle of a monarch butterfly migration route. Beautiful! My father grew milkweed for them.
