So if an automobile jumps the curb the man will be the first to die. (BONUS POINTS if you can identify the 1950s daytime TV show feature where this observation appeared.)

Then, please by all means walk behind me and I’ll leave you behind while I get to where I’m going when I’m supposed to be there.

In older times Charlie Brown had it right; she’d be splashed on the street side, but better water or mud than people emptying their chamber pots onto the sidewalk.

In the old days of horses and wagons the man walked on the curb side in case a horse kicked up mud or manure and not soil the lady.

I’m used to keep ladies walk on the inner side, problem is that now I have found some of them are offended since they want to be treated ‘equally’. Oh, and I still open the doors for them too.

There are no gender rules for behavior in the military. (There are variations for uniform wear, accounting for body shape differences) The rule is the lower rank walks to the left. The superior rank can draw their sword and protect themselves on the right. The lower rankn would protect them on their non-sword side.

    But I’m not a man, I’m a boy! And you’re not a woman, you’re a girl!
