Somehow, it reminds me of Poncho of “Pooch Café.”

Silly CB…he thinks Snoopy’s a regular old dog.

Charlie Brown left handed in ‘Peanut Begins’ strip? I always thought he pitched right handed.

After all he has seen in Snoopy, even on these early days, you would have thought he knew him well enough to know he doesn’t like to do ordinary dog things.

Snoopy then is not like my neighbor’s Lola, who lives to chase ball. She is crazy enough to be on youtube.

No, it isn’t fun, is it? What would be a lot more fun would be Snoopy pretending to be, say, a World War One fighter pilot. For the strip, I mean!

Snoopy would later learn the trick of slobbering all over the ball when returning it… stopped Linus dead in his tracks, he did. (“That ended THAT game in a hurry.”)

You can tell it was not fun. Snoopy was walking for the ball, not running.

Snoopy is already bored with the game. Take him to an ice rink…

As Snoopy said on a later similar occasion “I want people to have more to say about me after I’m gone than ‘He was a nice guy. He chased sticks!’”

(“Oh, yeah, right! I always end up having to get the stupid ball!”)

No regular beagle does not love “fetch”.
