Haven’t I seen a gag like this in some other comic strip somewhere before? I think it was classic “Garfield” where Garfield takes all the sausage links from a plate where Jon offered Garfield just ONE link.

If anything Schultz did it first. When this strip came out the first time it was long before most of the strips today.
