Ah, the odd ol’ days of the strip, when adults were a thing.
This is only the second time I have seen a Peanuts adult speak
Gee, is it cribbage night or something for Mr. and Mrs. van Pelt?
“Rushing the kids off to bed” while they’re being looked after by a total stranger. Oh yeah, that works—NOT.
Kind of odd that Linus understood that conversation so well. His thought balloons are well developed but he still can’t talk. Then again, this is a world where a beagle can put on a WWI flying helmet by himself.
The adults can speak! Who’d have thought?
This one is new to me, but I do remember at least two other times adults talked – in fact both times were Lucy and Linus’s mom.
I’m pretty sure that afterI was old enough to speak, I never had a bed time that early. Maybe 8:00 PM.
